From the mind and imagination of Peruvian designer Andrea Alvarado comes a flood of endless possibilities that are changing the way people think and feel. Born in Arequipa Peru, Andrea grew up entwined in fashion. Her grandmother owned a fashion school where Andrea learned the roots and uninhibited borders that design can lend to our hands. Under the guidance of her mother, also a cutting edge designer, and her grandmother, Andrea found ways and techniques that can only be defined by her amazing work and style.
Andrea has traveled the world and is inspired by all that is around her. She moved to California in 2002 and began building the blocks that would be the foundation for her art. Opening Ayla in 2009, Andrea is currently working on her own line, set to launch in 2011. Her line, Ayla (pronounced Eye-la), will feature clothing and accessories for women, as well as a swimwear line (undisclosed). Andrea's passion and talent for working with colors is an exciting presage of what will come in 2011. What will you be wearing?
